Birmingham Botanical Gardens was the wedding venue chosen by Natalie & Tom and what a day we all enjoyed. Sunshine galore, blue sky’s, a truly amazing day. Photographing a wedding at the Botanical gardens was a new experience for us here at Heart Weddings. So many pictures lurking around each corner. Birmingham Botanical Gardens are located just a few minutes from the main centre of Birmingham, but you would not guess that your in the city, the gardens are beautiful, bright colourful and private. The main suite is a very large space which joins the botanical house itself, a spectacular part of the gardens to go for a quite stroll and take in the ambience and scent of the tropics. Natalie and Tom were a great couple to have a laugh with and were up for anything that we suggested. Here is a selection of photographs taken during the day, I hope your enjoy them as much as we did taking them. We must say a huge thank you to everyone who made use feel so welcome. Jon & Max……
As always is great to have a few words from the Bride & Groom so here we go …
How did you both meet? We met while working for Acorns Children’s Hospice – Natalie went to volunteer one summer between University terms and actually made a decent cup of tea!
What was the proposal like? We went to Bateman’s, Rudyard Kipling’s house (very fitting) and Tom attempted to catch my attention while I was busy taking in the house and gardens. Eventually, he succeeded in a quiet spot after sneakily undoing his shoelaces so that he had an excuse to get down on one knee. Very romantic 🙂 Wedding planning tips – pick a fab photographer like Jon and enjoy the day. We made a lot of things ourselves and people really appreciated the personal touches. Things don’t always have to be bought at extortionate ‘wedding prices!
Why did we choose our venue? Who wouldn’t? We both love th outdoors and it was a great way to include a beautiful location that’s a bit of a secret gem.
